Here we go Again
THIS HAS ME FIRED UP!
Ok...I am still seeing red! Now us women no longer require Pap test every year...early detection is going out the door for us and I am hopping MAD! What 's next...are we going back to the old days when we had no rights at all. Are you as a woman feeling like your being treated as if your insignificant?? This is such a disgrace! Let me hear how you feel about it.

OMG!!!!!!!! O M G!!!!
Here's the thing. In 2008 I was diagnosed with severe Cervical Dysplasia. That is, according to my OBGYN, one notch below cancer. In 2007 I had a pap in October which came out fine. In April 2008 I had another, at my request. The pap came out with Cervical Dysplasia. I was told I had a window of two weeks before it would get worse, ie: cancer. ( so hopping mad right now, sorry for any typos ) So here's the deal, screw them! I know most women can't, but I will PAY for my own TWICE a year. I had everything, and I mean everything taken out, but that still doesn't mean I can't get vaginal cancer. My mom died in 2004 from Ovarian cancer and my aunt, her sister in 2007 from Ovarian cancer. Damn these people who are doing this! I had to watch my poor mother, the person I loved most in the world puke her insides out from this disease. I had to hear my poor aunt die in horribe pain. I had to sign the termination of life support for my mom. I had to hear from a doctor I was going to get cancer if I didn't have a total hysterectomy. I don;t have children and now I never will. And these "a" holes are doing this? Why don;t they just take away our shoes and stick us back in kitchens and let us die? I will move to another country before I let these people dictate whether I live or die!
I've been told for two years now that I only need one every three years now. Apparently my GYN told me that the test is so sensitive now that if there are no problems I am good to go for 3 years!
I think I need to clarify something in the comment I wrote. My point was, and I was so mad i didn't seem to make it, was that in six months I went from being "normal" to almost having cancer. I have been married for ten years, so I don't do anything "bad" that would warrant a change like this. So anything more than 1 year between pap's, to me, is dangerous. I would just like women to think about it. Somehting as seemingly innocent as a few abdominal pains and a slight weight gain can be an indication of many thing wrong. Better safe than sorry.
Oh Jan! LOL! Yup, I live in Oklahoma. PG Tips is a tea in England ( like lipton to us americans ) I buy it at a local grocery store that sells English food. I drink it because it seems to have less acid that regular teas you usually find.
As far as I know, the spotted dick is a pudding from England. I think you may steam it like a plum pudding, but who knows! LOL. Some English food I love like scones and plum pudding, then there are some that just make me go "huh?" LOL
It's like the Ghost of Christmas Past.
WHO is starring as the Scrooge?
OMG is right. This may be TMI, but I had an abnormal Pap five years ago, at age 29. Yes, it was scary, and yes, the colposcopy etc. was difficult and uncomfortable. But guess what? If it had turned out to be cancer (which, thank goodness, it didn't) at least I would have had a fighting chance.
How many lives are considered "worth" saving? I have so many more thoughts about this but don't want to hog up your comment section. I'm working on a post about this myself. Thanks for giving us so much to think about!
Im with M and Cher. Sad to say, but things can go wrong in the blink of an eye. I'd rather go thru the extra exams and discomfort than to wait and have the "Oops, Im sorry, it's too late...if we'd caught it sooner" talk.
