Fungi

We have had 10 days of rain off n on...when it does rain...it comes down in buckets!  So when its wet like it has been...this is what starts to grow in your yard.

This last one is the weirdest if you ask me!!! Looks like a big match head!!!

Strange, but they sure make for great images! Very pretty!

Cool! I love looking at things close up through a camera lense--fungi being one. Thank goodness we've had enough rain to make them grow. Also like different lichens on rocks and trees.

I've seen the same thing around here. Funny that when it get's to wet from all this rain, these start to appear. I've seen some ones that are red in color, and dark brown. Would not be a good idea to eat them, unless you know what to pick.

Hi Jan and Jer,

I'm back to tell you that I left an award for you over on my blog.

Hugs,

The moisture brings out strange things from the earth. The rubbery texture makes them feel artifical. The kids like picking them and throwing them on the driveway and watching them explode.

They are big too! Here's hoping the rain heads south soon, we've had enough and they need it badly!

there's a fungus among us.
(how many times have you heard that?)

Do you remember calling them toadstools when you were little?
