I would like to salute all the veterans out there that served in the Military, and the ones that are still serving. My Dad served in the Army during WWII and the Korean War, he was injured and received the "Purple Heart", sadly he is no longer with us. Both of my Brothers served in the Army, one during peace time and the other during the Vietnam War. My husband served four years in the Navy, he went in when he was only 17 yrs old, his Mom had to sign for him, this was the case with my oldest brother also. All three of my husbands children have served in the Military, his son was in the Marines, his youngest daughter was in the Army and his oldest daughter is making a career serving in the Air Force. She is on her third tour in the middle east, two in Iraqi and now in Afghanistan. This is the most dangerous place in the world right now and we pray for her safety. These men and woman are to be commended for their brave commitment to protect our country. Don't forget to display your flag on tuesday!

Janis, your family is certainly doing its share to keep us safe. More and more often we are warned about how unstable and dangerous Afghanistan is getting. I know you are so concerned for your family member who's on that front line. May she stay safe.
