Palm Sunday

On this day, the Church celebrates the triumphant entry of our Lord into Jerusalem; when the multitude, going before and following after Him, cut off branches from the trees and strewed them in His way, shouting “Hosanna (glory and praise) to the Son of David. Blessed is He that cometh in the name of the Lord.” It is in commemoration of this triumph that palms are blessed and borne in solemn procession.

I love going to our Palm Sunday service at church...it is always an upbeat service to celebrate Jesus riding into jerusalem on a donkey with his followers. The children hand out palms to the congregation and the singing of the hyms is loud n joyful. As a Christian it is a reminder of what is to become.

it always made me a bit sad, because it showed just how fickle and horrible we humans are - your biggest fan, one minute, and your worst persecutor the next.

we didn't go to our regular church today as we were invited to go to a baptism at another one. A 60ish woman that we've known since we were young -- and she took this step. Her niece invited us to a wonderful wonderful brunch afterward. It was such a good day.

Yes, I agree it is a very nice service.

Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!

I always love that at the end of Lent we get to do all the celebrating we've stored up for 6 weeks!
