Sweet Pa. Corn

As the saying goes..'.when the corns as high as an elephants eye, its time to pick it so come nigh". The corn in this part of the universe has been outstanding to say the least. We were getting local corn in the middle of July...that is very rare for this area in the northeast. The normal time for local corn is usually the very end of July..early August. This has been a perfect summer, with just enough rain for the crops to be plentiful.
Every ear of corn we have had so far has been so sweet. Looking forward to lots more this month. The farmers are counting their blessings for sure.

I agree! I could eat a dozen for dinner alone! I will be making chicken corn soup next week using the corn fresh off the cob!

Mmmmm...corn on the cob...*DROOL* Sounds yummy! This has been a great summer for the farmers. I remember back a few years ago, I was living in Va. and we had a terrible drought one summer. I passed by a lot of cornfields on my drive to work, and it was so very sad to see brown stalks instead of lush green corn-bearing goodness. Hooray for Mother Nature this year!
