new replacing the old, love the fences you are finding, this one has character especially with all that surrounds it

That is so charming! Wooden fences are pretty, but the wire is much more useful.

Hi, I'm a new follower and I love the photographic work on your blog! The fences linky is a really great idea so I thought that I would join in today for the first time. Thanks!

I really like this...love the wooded look to it.

I wonder if the fences divide two neighboring properties and if one neighbor put up the wooden fence to hide the wire one.

Lots of character in this fence arrangement! And the foliage contributes the beauty!

I promise I haven't forgot you :) I've been home with construction workers in my house all week! Handicap shower is finally tiled! Slow going but we will get there eventually :)

This looks like a GA, not PA, fence? Your photo also reminds me of a fence problem that I had where the person who lived alongside me didn't want to take down his old fence when I put up a new one. Can you imagine the trouble of weedeating between two fences. Should have done what the owners of this fence did--let the vegetation take over.

Your shots always inspire me to look for the unusual - and make me wonder about the stories behind the view. This one made me think of a friend's property on the farm - lots of fences, old and new. Wonderful shot!

i see that all the time. meaning that each neighbor puts up their own fence. guess they can not come to agreeable fence design or color & end up doing both. they say "fences are the best neighbors". i love it. great photo.

..yes the wire netting to support some vines I'd say; will look lovely over time with the green foliage clinging

I love the old fences with vegetation growing all around them. This one is a wonderful example.

I sometimes wonder why people add a second fence like that...

I really like the way the focus of the shot (the two overgrown fences) is wonderfully framed between the trees! :=} What a great catch!!!

Oh, I like this, and wonder what's on the other side?
Love the blue sky in your header.
Snow and blowing snow today. Temp 18º
I think winter is finally here!

I wonder which came first...the wire or the wood? My guess is that someone put up the wire, which wasn't terribly attractive, so the neighbor on the other side disguised it with the great wooden fence!

Those elusive fences keep eluding me but someday i too will capture one.. hopefully sooner rather than later.
Nice capture, Janis :)

Beautiful!

Is this a property line where owners of both sides wanted their own fence? LOL! Yes, the green on brown looks terrific.

Double the trouble for someone trying to hop over both at the same time.
Nice shot Janis.
