Well folks...I am sitting here watching "Meet the Press" and of course they are debating about the "Debt Ceiling!!! Now....I am just wondering how many people out there feel the same way I do! Here goes...are you ready! First of all..I am not political at all...I am a registered independent and exercise my right to vote during the Presidential elections! As an American, I expect our government to look after the rights of our citizens and up hold our constitution that was written by our forefathers. As I sit n listen to all this debt ceiling business and everything else that's going wrong in our country..it makes me so disgusted!!! In my opinion we have a bunch of idiots running our country....how could they let things get so bad in this great country???? WE need to get rid of all of them and elect people who are willing to protect the interest of the American people n not just whats in it for them...like being elected for another term!!!!! let me know what your thoughts are on this!!! I am very interested to find out if I am or not the lone ranger here!!!!

At least they don't have free reign any more to spend, spend, spend without anyone stopping them. It's just so ugly trying to stop them! We vote, too, often absentee from very far away. We never miss a vote even though we travel for My Honey's work. We are soooo looking forward to the next election.

Like you, I'm not political at all. Honestly, I'm not sure I could name one politician that I truly believe is an elected official because he wants to do what's right for our country. They all seem to be in it for their own power hungry selves. I say get rid of the whole lot and start from scratch. Here in Illinois, we are at the mercy of Chicago. None of our down home politicians, who might be in the race for the right reason, can get elected because Chicago runs the show. And everyone knows what kind of political wonders have come out of there. Most are criminals. I believe we have had 3 governors imprisoned and soon it will be 4. Not sure on that number. The thing that has always worried me about our current president is that he cut his political teeth on Chicago corrupt politics. Scary.

Hope you won't mind a comment from across the pond. Just to say I sympathise with you. Things over here have me thinking similar thoughts about our lot. All we hear is debt and more debt, restrictions and cut-backs. As for the political parties, they're all tarred with the same brush.
Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.
If both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits?
If all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes.
I am noting here that on a news programs (It was NBC I think I saw) that one of the commentators mentioned that the "freshmen" congressmen that were voted in November of last year were standing firm and not voting for the debt ceiling to be raised. The commentator said that it was "refreshing" that they were standing firm and didn't care if they didn't get reelected, but that they needed to compromise
I disagreed with him. If they campaigned on a "balance" the budget platform and they won election, then they better darn well vote the way they promised.

I sometimes don't even like to watch the news....I don't know the word for what I feel when I hear about some of the stuff they spend our money on. (remember shrimp on treadmills just a week or two ago to name one)
