National Wildlife Refuge. It's just an hours drive from our place here in Bunswick Ga. We picked a perfect day to walk through the swamp and explore the vegetation n wild life that makes this place so special. If you are into ecology, this is the place for you. The Okefenokee is a Federal perserved Park, it was established in 1936 to protect migratory bird habitat. The refuge is home to hundreds of plant and animal species. Come take a walk with me as I show you some of the things that we saw.

Those photos are EXCELLENT!!!! I especially LOVE the turtle one and the reflection shot (#2). It looks like it would be a nice place to take a stroll on a "cool" day.

What fun to walk with you. We pass this area when traveling between Ohio and Florida. We will have to schedule a stop to walk through the swamp. This is wonderful!

I've always heard that place was crazy wild, like snakes & stuff, so I was always scared of it... but your tour didn't seem scary at all! LoL!
I watched a special on tv a while back where they talked about Flight 19 (5 Military planes in the 40's that some say "The Bermuda Triangle" swallowed up) going down there in the swamp, but that it's too wild & covered in snakes & gators to get in there & search. With all the technology we have now-a-days, though, you'd think they wouldn't have to actually WALK IN to find it if it's there!
