I Love To Jitterbug -- Fun Monday
Ari is hosting Fun Monday this month and here is her request for today!
Topic for Jan. 17: Link to a music video or song that specifically makes you want to get up and dance
Hey everybody...haven't been around for a while. Kinda got burnt out and needed a breather. This sounded like a fun topic so I thought I would play. I love all kinds of music and I love to dance. Rock n Roll will never die...at least not in my mind. Its the best kind of music to dance the Jitterbug. As a teenager, I lived at teen center, dancing was and still is so much fun. Not to mention, its great exercise. My Hubby and I often dance around the living room when we hear a good oldie with a good beat. Just look at the dancers in the video...now you have to admit they can cut a rug!! All of them have rhythm!
No go on over to the see what makes everyone else want to dance!!! Just click here

That is some fun dancing! I wish I could dance like that!
Swing dancing is SO energetic! And choreographed. I wish I could, but my style is a little more... freeform. and Primitive.
I seriously was born a generation too late. Whenever I can get my husband to jitterbug or swing, I just tell him to hang on and let me lead. Except I can't flip him around. Thank you!
P.S. Can I tell you how much I LOVE your header picture? The colors are absolutely amazing!
Sounds like a fun dance! I hope Jer is doing well!
I've often watched folk dancing like that on films and thought that would be fun to learn. But nowadays I wouldn't have the coordination or energy to try it. Hoping Jer continues to make a good recovery. You are in my thoughts and praters.
Growing up in the 50's, we know how to Jitterbug but are by no means as dynamic as this duo.
I forgot to mention that you have a beautiful masthead and quote.
So wish I could dance like that. Would you teach me ?
Hoping there's lots of progress and healing at your place.
Wow those are some moves! I think I would break something if I tried any of that. :)
I love The Charleston best of all.
I too love to dance, Jan. I dance around the house when no one is looking :) All it takes is the right tune on the radio and off a go.
I pray that all goes well with Jer's recovery.. hope you two will be headed south to enjoy the beach and warm weather real soon.
Warm hugs,
Pam
What a great reminder of another time. In high school we put our lunch money in the juke box and danced in a little restaurant right beside the school grounds. I'm glad you and Jer still love to dance, Janis. Light feet, light heart!
Whooo-oooooh -- That's some jitterbugging: it's still the best dance for having fun. I haven't done jitterbug since the local rec. department used to put on dances on a local tennis court. Thanks for the memories!
