A Blast from the Past

Everytime I go into the big town of Westminster Md. which is just 30 minutes from my home here in Pa. I past this barn, and everytime, I did not have my camera. This time I was prepared. As a matter of fact we passed it and had to turn around and go back! I love old barns and farm scenes...there is something so charming about them. I think Mail pouch chewing tobacco is still in production..so that makes this old barn free advertising. What a deal! I wonder how much it cost them to paint the ad on this barn. I know its been there for a long long time!

I love old barns too. There is something so comforting about them. Maybe it's that down home country feeling.

These Mail Pouch signs are quite common on barns in Kentucky since we once were a big tobacco producing state. A new custom that I love is painting quilt designs on our barns. Must be a take off from the PA hex signs.
