OK, I know that pretty much all of you out there are bookworms. So for Fun Monday on 2nd February, firstly tell me what book you are reading now. What's it about? Are you enjoying it and why? If not, why not?And secondly, if you were to be stranded on a desert island, what one book would you take with you.
The book that I am reading right now is "The Shack" by William P Young. This is a fictional story about the loss of a young daughter. This book wrestles with the timeless question; where is God in a world so filled with unspeakable pain? It will definitely give you a new outlook in the way we view God the father, the son and the holy ghost. It is a must read for everybody.
My next book to read is listed below.
John Atkinson is the author of TIMEKEEPER, a magnificent book about a young boy who fights to overcome illiteracy. For more on this book click here.
Now to answer the question, What book would I take with me if I were stranded on a desert island? Take a look, see for yourself. For more FM go on over here and see what others are reading.

i still have to read The Shack. Everyone is talking about it!
I would love to read the Shack once things slow down a bit.
Laughing at your deserted island pick - it's probably the most practical of all the books we'll see today!
Great choice for a desert island. You'd be surprised how many of that book we sell, in the bookstore.
My, my, that's a good looking cover Timekeeper has. But I'm prejudice.
I'm reading The Box Children by Sharon Wyse. The story takes place in the 1960s, a young girl growing up on a wheat farm. I like the story, but most of all I like her voice. I'm halfway through.
I live on an Island and I have to go to the mainland for books. My next read is Same Kind of Different As Me, a dual memoir by Ron Hall & Denver More. That is if I can get my Christmas gift from my wife, Renee.
PS Thank you for reading Timekeeper. John
I loved The Shack! I really like your "Guide to Survival" choice for being stranded. I am sure it contains alot of helpful tips. The Timekeeper looks interesting. Keep us posted on how you liked this one.
That Timekeeper sounds VERY good.
Thanks for the visit today. Happy Fun Monday.
Heheee, Snap with the Shack. I hope you're enjoying it - I certainly am.
I think I've been much less practical with my stranded book - perhaps I am assuming I'll sunbathe for a while and then get rescued...
Wow! Shack is a popular book these days. I hadn't heard of it until last week. I'll have to check into that one.
I love that you'd bring a survival guide along. ;)
Hehehe you are a very careful person to take a survival book along !
Wow, you have some great books there! I didn't get my act together in time for FM. It's just as well because I'd be embarrassed to admit the number of books that I have started and never finished :-( One of these days!! Happy FM to you!
Even my friends IRL are reading The Shack. I better get with it.
yes -- the survival book is a great choice. I had to go back and amend my post because I'd forgotten that (writing my post at 1 am. d'oh)
Very practical I would bring the same kind of book. And, I have been wanting to read The Shack... just waiting for my neighbor to finish it.
I lvoe that people are so sensible to take a survival book! It never occurred to me!
I finished The Shack not too long ago. Awesome book.
Thanks for sharing.
I was really enjoying listening to Yael Naim's 'New Soul' on your playlist, but now that I've come to leave a comment it has stopped playing. Drat! :)
Well, I hadn't heard of 'The Shack' until reading all the Fun Monday entries, but now I see how popular it is I am definitely going to find out more.
My sister sent the Shack to my husband. She thought that this might be a good book for our Sunday school class, which he teaches, to study. As you know, I went with a survival book too. Being a creature of comfort, I really cannot imagine being stranded on a desert island.
I noticed that you have a comment by the author of The Timekeeper, now this school teacher is even more intrigued to read the book.
Yes, The Shack is causing quite a bit of discussion. Last pilates class my friend and instructor had quite a theological debate. Instructor is a young woman who's on a religious journey, looking for answers. My friend is very certain--her God is one of rewards and punishments. I just listened. . .
This is such a good topic to help uncover some new authors. I'm keeping a list. Got my FM post up around noon yesterday--DSL problems. Stop by if you have a minute.
This is clearly a book that I need to read I already have it on my list as I saw it on Sarah's post.
