Christmas in November
I thought I would share my thoughts on this and see what you all think. Last week November 5, I saw my first Christmas commercial on TV. Then I turn on my radio, station 101.5 the rose and what do I hear -- that's right Christmas music. When you go into the stores, is it weird to you to see Halloween and Thanksgiving decorations in one isle then Christmas trees decorated in the next. It makes me feel a little anxious, like OMG, I better start my Christmas shopping. That is exactly how the retailers want us to feel. Don't get me wrong, I do love to listen to Christmas music, but by the time we get to Christmas day we are all pretty sick of hearing them. Why does it have to be this way, it never used to. I just want to enjoy Thanksgiving without feeling like a ticking time bomb. The month of December is like a frenzy for everyone, getting the decorations out, shopping for gifts, sending out cards, making cookies, going to parties, wrapping the gifts, preparing the Christmas day meal and on and on and on! Maybe we should have a two month celebration so we can get it all in and actually enjoy it. The celebration of the birth of Christ has become so commercialized that the real meaning has taken a back seat! Just my thoughts, how do you feel about it??

Yes the Birth of our Lord has indeed taken a back seat. Make as much money as possible!That is the reason for the season. I'm surprised that they waited for holloween to end.
It's so true. I just want to enjoy Thanksgiving and then worry about Christmas.
I agree, and we should all ask ourselves, is our focus on the gift, or the ultimate gift-giver, our gracious heavenly Father? Remember what Christmas is all about and try not to get caught up in the commercial end of it.
My two cents.
We have come along way from the days when the stores were closed on Sunday. Can you believe it's almost 2009!
Chick Fil A is closed on Sunday, can you name another.
