such scenes were so close to our home. The best of both worlds. Soon this scene will be no more. The
fences will be torn down to be replaced with yet another development. No more cows or horses will be
grazing in this pasture. :(

Very true and so true. Time seems to change so many good memories in our life. We never could afford even a fence like this. Most barbwire.

ReplyDeleteI feel your pain. Our open field with a tree line that has been in back of our home for the past 19 years sold a couple of months ago...supposed to be a neighborhood service zone....they couldn't tell us exactly what that was. We are so heart-broken over it!
ReplyDeleteI hate that. So many farms around here have been developed. I guess I can't fault the owners for wanting the money, but it's still sad. This is a nice scene.

ReplyDeleteThe price of so-called progress is often just too pricey--although few people realize it at the time.
ReplyDeleteSadly we can't stop "progress." I suppose every generation has felt that way, though. Now it seems to be happening faster than ever, doesn't it?

ReplyDeleteNow that is sad to know that these pretty fields will be made into a subdivision. I guess people have to have a place to live though and when you think about it, all our cities were country at one time. The fence is nice. I'd like to have the boards. :) Enjoy the holiday weekend.

ReplyDeleteThat's such a shame. Sometimes I think it won't be long until every inch is paved over or built on. We are dealing with a new neighbor building a house on the cornfield next door, so I know how depressing this must be for you.

ReplyDeleteYes, sadly these wonderful rural scenes are disappearing through development. You just wonder how many "McMansion" subdivisions we need, don't you?
ReplyDeleteVinyl fences can generally be pressure-washed with no need for special chemicals. You might even get away with just spraying them down with a hose every now and then.
