In Flight

I was so excited to get this shot. Our neighbor across the street has a koi pond and this Blue Heron is a regular visitor. Easy prey...at least it was... until netting was placed over the pond to protect the fish. He had just landed at the pond and I ran and got my camera...right when I was about to take his picture...he was spooked and flew away, I just started shooting and this is what I came up with!  I cropped it to get a closer look!

Snow n Kids = Fun

I remember the days of sledding and being so cold but having too much fun to come in the house. Now I have fun watching the kids from inside looking out the window and staying warm!! Snow is for Kids!!!!

Just me with Grand daughter # 2...Casey and I have a special bond...we like to scrapbook and shop together. She is a very kind and considerate young lady.  For Christmas she gave me two necklaces one says Grandma and the other one says Grand daughter..she wears that one

Its a Hair Thing

Girls love to mess with each others hair.  These things never change...I remember doing my Moms and sisters hair way back in my teen years. My grand daughters are no exception..they love to have their hair done.  Casey...grand daughter #2 had fun fixing Gabby and Holly's hair this past weekend.  Gabby has a little curl to her hair on the very ends...Casey used a flat iron to straighten it out..Gab just loved it.  Holly's hair is poker straight..but still had to have the same treatment. Gee, maybe one day Casey will be in the hair business. That would be nice!!!

                                           Holly looks a little grumpy here...she is our drama queen!

Hey everybody...haven't been around for a while.  Kinda got burnt out and needed a breather. This sounded like a fun topic so I thought I would play.   I love all kinds of music and I love to dance. Rock n Roll will never die...at least not in my mind.  Its the best kind of music to dance the Jitterbug.  As a teenager, I lived at teen center, dancing was and still is so much fun. Not to mention, its great exercise.  My Hubby and I often dance around the living room when we hear a good oldie with a good beat.  Just look at the dancers in the video...now you have to admit they can cut a rug!! All of them have rhythm!

Its ICD Time

Check out my Hubby's newest addition to his body!!! His brand spanking new Defibrillator or (ICD Device). What a roller coaster ride the past week has been.  After doing an ep study on Friday, it was determined that Jerry had ventricular fibrillation and would need a defibrillator to help his heart. When they went in to insert the wire...they perforated the heart...YEP that's right...they put a hole in his heart and the nightmare began ! The doctors had to connect a tube in his heart to drain the blood which was very painful. It also made it hard for him to breath and it was very unnerving. This was such a learning experience for both of us, since we were totally ignorant on the workings of an ICD. After five days in the  Cardiac Care unit and a successful surgery to implant the device, Jer came home.   Now its just taking it easy and adjusting his daily routine. Its just another chapter in our lives and we are so thankful that his condition was caught in time.  If left unchecked it could have resulted in sudden death!  Like they say..."What doesn't kill you makes you stronger"  Life goes on!!! Thank God for technology!

Back to my Roots for one day

Yesterday my Hubby n I took a ride into the next state over from us...that would be Maryland. We are only 4 miles from the line.  Baltimore is the big city in Maryland and we had to check out the where abouts of one of the big hospitals there. I grew up in Baltimore and it has been soooooo long since I have  been to "Charm City" as it is called.  I was right out of high school and worked downtown. I didn't have an appreciation of the big old buildings. For two years I rode  the bus  into the city and hated every minute of it.  Fast forward 47 years and here we are. I am glad I took my camera and would like to share some of the photos I took from the car.

Now here comes the seedy part of the City.....its known as "The Block" and this is where you can go and see S____clubs. I am not going to say it...but it rhymes with drip. I think every  young man I grew up with has been here at one time or another. Mostly for bachelor parties. Some pics are blurred because we were in a moving car and I was snapping as fast as I could

.It was nice having that walk down memory lane, but it was so good to get back to our little town of Hanover Pa.  My days of being a big city girl are long over. But I would like to go back with my camera and take more photos.
