Whats in your Purse

The Church Lady is our fabulous hostess this week and here is her fun assignment.

Post a photo of your purse and if you care to share, describe what's inside your purse. Do you carry everything but the kitchen sink? Or, do you prefer to go light and carry only the necessities, such as your money and cell phone. For the men who would like to participate, post a photo of your wallet and describe what's in your wallet.

I am not one to spend a whole lot of money on a purse and I tend to stick with the same style. I have a winter purse n a summer purse. They will do me for a couple of years and then I buy new ones. My summer and winter purses this year are both Rossetti brand, I like this style. They must have a handle long enough to fit over my shoulder.

My Summer purse

I carry a wallet that matches my purse, a pill box, cell phone, address book, brush, lipstick, hand lotion, tissues, spray hand sanitizer, spray sun screen, gum, nail file, daily planner, mini flashlight and the fauble to my hubby's car. These things I carry in all my purses.

That was fun Kelly, thanks for hosting. Now go on over and take a look inside some of the other purses, click here.

Strange things growing in my garden

What the heck is this weird stuff??? Does anyone out there know?? When I pulled it up, it looks like some kind of bulb. Isn't it freaky looking! It reminds me of something from a SciFi movie or from outter space....woooooooo.

Flies Love Yarrow

I discovered something yesterday while sitting on my deck. Take a close look at the photos..see the flies??? They seem to love this Yarrow plant. Yuck...I am pulling the darn thing up, I was going to anyway, we are tearing up the deck to pour a concrete patio. It's a shame because this plant really does have a beautiful flower. With the thought of possibly moving it to another location in my yard, after seeing the flies, it is going in the trash pronto!

Take a look at this big fella.....I detest flies! Can anyone tell me a fly's purpose in life??? I can't think of one good thing.

June Birthdays

June has been a busy month for Birthday celebrations. First it was Carley's 13th B.day, she is now an official teenager....YIKES! Next it was Casey's turn, she turned 11. Every year it seems the girls wind up having two gatherings to celebrate. One for relatives and the other for just their friends. Since it was a milestone for Carley, we gave her an Irish claddagh ring with her initials engraved on it to commemorate this special time in her life. We gave Casey a game and a journal box with some accessories. Also, since they just got their very long driveway paved we presented them each with a scooter. They have been really giving them a work out. This was the year for scooters...we gave Gabby one for her birthday also.
And last but not least, our son in-law Matt of lizards of oz celebrated his Birthday this month. Three more B.days in July, two grandaughters and one daughter, after that we have a break until Sept and then we celebrate mine...yay!

My Favorite Foods

misanthrope is our fun hostess this week, here is what she wants us to do.

Now that summer is officially here, with its abundance of cookouts and picnics and ice-cream wagons…let’s talk about FOOD!
If you could choose one “main course” item and one dessert item that would, just for you, contain zero calories for the rest of your life (or zero cholesterol, zero points, or whatever your most important dietary measure is)…what would you choose? Post a pic of your chosen items if you like, or just make us drool with a description.
Since its summer and I am a native Maryland girl (who now lives in Pa.). I have to say this is what I would choose for some of my favorite foods.
First of all I would start out with a delicious garden Salad.
The Yankee: tender romaine hearts, crunchy croutons, extra sharp white cheddar cheese, sliced red onion, and tart dried cranberries; served with a crazy citrus cranberry vinaigrette dressing and toasted pecans .
Next I would have a bowl of Crab Bisque...oooooh so creamy and delicate.
Then it would be on to a scrumptious Maryland lump crab cake
If I still have room in my tummy, I would have a fried soft shell crab sandwich, this is something I long for in the summer months.
And to top off a wonderful summer meal, this would be the perfect ending! YUM
Now go see what some of the other's have to say click here. Thanks for hosting M

Minature Ponies

Every time I go to my daughter Kelly's house , this is what I pass. Finally I had my camera with me. They are so cute and for sale also. If I had some land I think I would buy one. Sorry the photos are not real centered, I was shooting them from my car, in a hurry because there was a truck behind me.

Road Trip Adventure part 2

OK, so continued from Road trip part 1, you know the one where we ran out of gas on I-95 south. We were on our way to Ga/Fl. Here is the update on the trip back to Pa. All was going great until we reached Petersburg Va..... Since we were traveling on a weekday, Jer and I thought we were being so smart in leaving Ga at 4am in the morning, that would get us to the Washington DC area around 2pm, thinking we would breeze through DC before the rush hour traffic....NOT! How naive can we get! We ran into rain in Va and it just got worse the further north we traveled. There were fender benders all over the place and bumper to bumper traffic until we arrived home (two extra hours later) It is always so stressful coming through that area, people drive like maniacs, the rain made it 10 times worst. I think we learned our lesson, from now on when traveling back n forth on I -95 it will be on the weekends.

What does your Future Hold

Sayre smiles is our hostess this week and she has come up with a very interesting topic.

Using your imagination, project into the future and tell me what you will be like as an 80-year old. Will you be someone who doesn't accept the aging process, spending all your time in the gym and the bars, or will you be a rocking chair granny, or something in between?
If its God's will to allow me to live until 80, first of all I would be so thankful. I would imagine that I would be doing the same things I am doing now except maybe scaled down a little. Exercise is a big part of my life right now and hopefully I will be able to continue. Spending time with family is another thing that I know will still go on. As long as I can bend over or get down on the ground and get back up again, I will tend to my garden. If Fun Monday is still going on, you will see my name on the list to participate. I guess you could call me a rocking chair Granny, because I do love sitting on my porch and rocking in my chair and waving to the neighbors that walk by, and I am a Granny. Growing old is a sometimes scary process, but we all go through it. Accepting the changes that occur is part of growing old with grace. This is what I am trying to do. Let me tell you...it isn't easy. Now go see what the rest of group is saying click here. Thanks for hosting Sayre.

Road Trip Adventure part 1

Our recent road trip to Ga/Fl was quite the adventure. All was going great, the traffic on interstate 95 south was very light and we were making real good time. We were in Santee S.C about 2:15 pm when the car started to sputter, we got over to the shoulder of the road and kept pressing the gas pedal, with each press, the car would jerk forward a few feet and then stop. With that my hubby, announces that he thinks we ran out of gas. Now here goes my mouth...WHAT! how could you let that happen! Didn't you watch the fuel gage? Says my hubby.."am I going to have to hear it for the rest of the trip"? Well with that, I started to laugh and said, I am getting my camera, this is a blog! All I can say is Thank God for cell phones and triple A. We were able to give them our location and they said they would send someone within 45 minutes. So we got out of the car and found this little patch of shade and stood there waiting. It was so hot, 90 degrees to be exact, the only breeze we got was from the cars rushing by. The gnats were buzzing our heads and the ants were swarming our feet. The next thing you know here comes the sheriff, he was the nicest guy, he stayed with us until our gas guy came and I felt a lot safer with him there. All n all the whole episode took 40 minutes so it was a good outcome, but we both know how lucky we were. I don't think Jer will play that empty gas sign game to see how far he can get, anymore. It must be a man thing. Stayed tuned for part 2 of our trip home.
