Whose Your Character of Choice?
Ari is our host for Today. Here is Fun Monday's question: If you could click your heels three times, and change lives with any character from any film, who would it be and why?
At first, I thought, wow..this is going to be hard. But after I gave it a little thought..this is the first thing that came to mind. If I could change lives with any film character it would be Ginger Rogers. Even though she was in her prime a little before my time, I admire her talent. Ginger and Fred Astaire were a match made in heaven for dancing together. Tap dancing is so much fun to do and watch. Way back when...I took dance lessons and tap was my favorite. I was very good at it, but I quit after a few years and never went back. This has been one of my regrets in life. Who knows where it would have taken me...maybe I would have gone on to be a Rockette and dancing at The Radio City Music Hall.

The announcement of the Astaire-Rogers screen partnership - from the trailer to Flying Down to Rio
Rogers was most famous for her partnership with Fred Astaire. Together, from 1933 to 1939, they made nine musical films at RKO Flying Down to Rio (1933), The Gay Divorcee (1934), Roberta (1935), Top Hat (1935), Follow the Fleet (1936), Swing Time (1936), Shall We Dance (1937), and Carefree (1938), The Story of Vernon and Irene Castle (1939) and a tenth The Barkleys of Broadway (1949) was made later at MGM, and in so doing, revolutionized the Hollywood musical, introducing dance routines of unprecedented elegance and virtuosity, set to songs specially composed for them by the greatest popular song composers of the day. To this day, "Fred and Ginger" remains an almost automatic reference for any successful dance partnership.

A Bloggers Breakfast
The Breakfast Club
Today was a wonderful fun day for me. Why, you ask....well it's because I had breakfast with three very special blogger friends, Kelly, Allison, and Tracey. We enjoyed sitting and chatting about everything under the sun for two and a half hours. Tracey (my niece in law) is a very talented photographer and she was getting us up to date on her latest consultant job. I happen to own one of her photos, it was a gift to me for Mothers day from my Daughter Kelly. I brought this print along with me and had her sign it. I feel for sure, this girl is going to make it big one day. This is my first time meeting Allison. I have been following her blog now for a while and she is a very nice down to earth Lady. Of course if you read my blog, you already know that Kelly is my daughter. Hopefully we will meet again soon, maybe some of you bloggers out there that live in the vicinity can be part of the next meeting. Now wouldn't that be FUN!!!

A Carefree Week
FUN MONDAY AGAIN
Our Hostess with the most est is Once Again the charming Sayre smiles and here is the question she asks of us.
If you had a WEEK with no obligation and money was no object, what would you do with it?
Boy that is a loaded question! I really had to think about it. There are so many places just here in the U.S. I would love to visit, like the Grand Canyon, Yellow Stone National Park, MT Rushmore, Maine and the California wine country. I decided that a week would not be enough time to visit all those places and really enjoy it. So I picked something I do a lot and love doing it and that is.......SHOPPING! That's right ladies, to shop without looking at the price tags would be a real treat. Since March I have been working very hard to lose weight and as of today I have been successful in losing 13 lbs and two sizes smaller. Therefore I need some new clothes. I would go out to all my favorite clothing stores and buy a new wardrobe, it would be fun to just pick out an item and buy it without worrying about the price. That would include shoes, purses and jewelry to match all outfits. After that I would have to buckle down and start saving for our trip to London England in the spring. Thanks to Sayre once again for hosting. Now go back to the list and see what the others would do with their week.

A Shopping Bag Story
Our UK friend ms cellania is our fun hostess for this week and here is her very interesting topic
Here in the UK we are being encouraged to stop using plastic bags so for the last couple of years I have been developing my shopping bag collection. So 'what type of shopping bag do you favour'-plastic or material? How many do you use. You could even show us what's in your bag!
Here in the U.S.A. plastic is still the # 1 bag that is used for items. Twenty five years ago, the main bag was paper. That was my preferred choice, you can put more groceries in one paper bag then you can in one plastic. I worked in a food store for 13 years and remember when they stopped using paper and went to plastic. The reason to stop using paper was "To save trees". Now all these years later, they are finding out that was a bad idea. We now have so many plastic bags that are not bio degradable, and they will be around for another 100 years. So now the big thing is "Go Green" and use cloth bags that can be reused. Something like the UK is doing. I have a little attitude about this...because I resented being forced to use plastic instead of paper and now they want me to buy my own bags and reuse them. Now I am all for saving our environment...but if they want me to use another kind of bag....they should supply me with it at no extra charge! Who's getting rich here??? Now go read some more stories about shopping bags. Thanks for hosting Chris.

A Pets Story
FUN MONDAY
&
Happy Labor Day too!
sayre smiles is our hostess this week and here is what she wants us to do.......
I want to see your furbabies. Or scalebabies. Or finbabies. Whatever form your pet takes, I want to see a picture of it/them and hear the story of how it/they came to be a part of your family.UPDATE: Don't have pets? Share your skin-babies!!!sayre smiles is our hostess this week and here is what she wants us to do.......
Since we don't have any domestic pets, this is what I came up with. All these little creatures hang around my house and gives me such joy to watch them. It almost feels like they are pets, I feed them and give them fresh water everyday. It is one of the things I look forward to every summer. Now go on over to Sayre's place and see some more pets.

Smell my Candle
Everytime our littlest Gran-daughter comes over she always want to smell this candle we have on our breakfast bar. It's cranberry pomagranate and it does smell very good. Yesterday she was sniffing it and said..."I want to lick it" now she must think it smells good enough to eat. It just stikes me funny, and I am wondering...is she getting a rush or something. I remember how I loved to smell crayons, paste and magic markers when I was a kid. Guess it falls under the same category.
